On a stretch of road near the Par-A-Dice casino in East Peoria, work is now underway to resurface and add onto Illinois 116.
It started Monday, stretching from I-74 to Highview Road.
IDOT is adding pedestrian improvements through that high traffic area, which means cones are now in place, reducing traffic down to one lane in each direction.

You’re reminded to be alert for changing lane configurations and work crews.
