PEORIA (WEEK) – Peoria firefighters rescued an injured woman from a house fire during the noon hour on Friday.
Firefighters said they found the woman at the bottom of the stairs when they entered the home at 1215 North Bourland Avenue. She was taken to a local hospital. Her condition was not known.
First responders said they saw heavy smoke coming from a second floor window. It took about ten minutes to get the fire under control, and no firefighters were hurt.
Damage to the home is estimated at $70,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
